History Of Internet

In 14 May 1948 America started a RAND corporation, in this corporation the America’s best Scientist are at one place. Everyone works to make the America a super power country. That time the enemy country of America “Soviet Union” do nuclear test and In 29 August 1949 by doing successfully nuclear test, Soviet Union show that I have also Nuclear Power. After this event there were the biggest fear into America’s people and Army. This was the first work that Soviet Union did to make America fear after this Soviet Union unlock second fear by launching the First rocket to space called Sputnik-1 on 4 October 1957. This was the biggest achievement of Soviet Union, after this happening the America’s  RAND corporation said President Ijan Hour to start a foundation called DARPA (Defence Advance Research Project Agency). This corporation have to found the every technology which helped America to become super powerful.

              

 

Paul Barren in the Game: Here interesting story start

In 1959 there was the entry of Paul Barren in RAND corporation, here he unlocked the new fear. He said that if any country attack on America by Nuclear Missile, the communication system of America would destroy and after this we cannot do any attack and save from attacks.

But how after destroying communication system, America cannot do Anything

That time the communication system was different from today. That time the people first call to central office and said that I have to talk with him, the central office people put the connection in both by connecting wires known as circuit switching. Paul Barren thought that if any Nuclear missile fall into any central office all the system would destroy and we cannot do anything.

 

Here the real story of Internet starts

After this the Paul Barren shifted to DARPA from RAND corporation, here he said about the concept called Arpanet. This Arpanet is literally known as Internet.

How Internet developed

The concept Arpanet not only introduced by only Paul Barren there is massive contribution of Jessy Liklider- a computer scientist. They both developed Internet.

Problem in Internet

But there is the big problem in their internet, which if two connections are talking with each other the third person cannot be able to connect with him. Example: According to that if you use router means you and your friend are connect to share information other will not be able to connect.

Packet Switching – Solution of Problem

To solve this problem Paul Barren introduced the new term called Packet Switching.

What is Packet Switching?

Packet switching is literally means transferring or sending the data into small – small packets through the network.

Let’s understand through example: Think of a small pipe as Network and Rubik cube as Data. If you want to send the data means Rubik cube from the small network it cannot passed because the pipe means the Network is small. If you really want to pass that data means that Rubik cube then breaks into small pieces then you can send it through that small network.

 

Problem in Packet switching

The big problem in packet switching is correction of data. Means the sending data is not in correct form. Let’s understand through example: Suppose somebody come and started beating you and said to send message to your friend. After this you send message to your friend call him here. The message that your friend receive is not in correct form. Means if you send “ABCD” your friend received “CBAD” not in correct order.

 

Solution: To solve this problem here is the entry of Two Scientists, “Robert Caan” and “Vint Cerf” he developed the new technology called TCP/IP to solve this problem.

What is TCP/IP?

Before there is problem to send the data because the data does not know where I have to go, this problem is solved by the IP. It means the Address on the internet. Second problem is the data that gone is not in correct order this problem is solved by TCP. It means the sequence in which the data have to send.

You can see this while downloading something, because when we download something it take some time because the data we download is in data packet that’s why it take some time to download.

 

How data breaks, means Data Packet?

The chip in our computer called NIC (Network Interface card) breaks the into data packets. Without this NIC your computer cannot communicate with Internet.

 

Another Problem: You can able to send that data but you cannot receive anything that you want. Just like today.

To solve this problem there is the development of ICAAN (International Corporation of Assigned Names and Number). It is the company which store the information about data. Means there is the address of the data in the world, this Corporation collect the information about the data, means the address of information.

Problem: Today if you want to search about “Google” in your address bar but if you want to search “Google” you have to write the IP Address of the Google. Here it was the big problem.

Paul Macapetris solved this problem by introducing the DNS (Domain Name System). DNS means the Name of the Website.

 

Biggest Problem: That time if you want to find something in the internet, if you don’t know that this information is in this website, you cannot find it. Literally means searching something through website name.

Solution: Tim Berners Lee solve this problem by developing the World Wide Web (WWW), and also by introducing HTTP, HTTPS and URLs.

In this all the webpages are connected with each other. You can find it in Wikipedia, whenever you visit Wikipedia you find that there is the blue highlighting text and when you click on it you visit on another webpage or website.

Tim Berners Lee is very kind hearted person because he make the WWW free for all users. Whenever it take money for this you cannot easily visit any website, you have to pay for it.
